Parish Ministries
Altar Servers
Altar Servers is a youth program where boys and girls can assist the Priest in celebration of the Mass. It provides youth with a better understanding of religious ceremony as well as a feeling of being part of the Mass. Interested grammar school youth can contact the parish office for more information.
Boy Scouts
Boy Scouts is a year round program for boys ages 11 through 17. This boy run program provides weekly meetings/activities and monthly camping trips/outtings.
Troop 20 meets Wednesday night at 7:00 PM in the Whelan Room.
Choir
The Choir assists in Celebration of the Mass through music. Adults interested in sharing their voices can contact the parish office for more information.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts is a year round family program designed for boys who are in First through Fifth Grade.
Pack 20 meets Friday night at 7:00 PM in the Whelan Room.
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers assists in Celebration of the Mass during the Celebration of the Eucharistic. Adults interested in participating in the Mass as Euchartic Ministers can contact the parish office for more information.
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry helps supply those in need with food for their weekly meals. Working closely with community food pantries we help close a gap in community need while ensuring everyone in need can be supported. Food pantry volunteers as well as non-perishable foods are always needed. If you can volunteer or donate non-perishable food, please contact the parish office.
Giving Tree
At Christmas time, the Giving Tree provides an opportunity for parishioners to brighten the holiday for someone they don't know by selecting an angel from the Chritmas Tree and pruchasing the item printed on angel for someone who could us a hand. This program provides gifts for those who might have nothing but their faith on Christmas morning.

The Serra Club encourages vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Please consider becoming an active and vocal supporter of our church and clergy. Call the parish office if interested.

Rosary Society
The Rosary Society will be conducting a Retreat on Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 9 am to 3 pm. Rev. James Starasinich from Sacred Heart Parish in Lyndhurst, NJ will be our moderator. The cost is $8.00 per person and includes coffee, cake at 9 am and lunch. The Retreat is open to all of the parish. Contact Diane at the rectory, 201-437-4090 to reserve a place.
The parishes of Our Lady of the Assumption, Saint Andrew, and Saint Mary Star of the Sea have joined together to provide a weekly Soup Kitchen for a Saturday afternoon meal for those who spend meattime alone and those in need. The program brings people together socially every week to share fellowship and a meal. Volunteers are always needed and can contact the parish office for more infomration.
